Hi, Python 3.10 is available to download for Leap 15.4, and Python 3.11 will have big performance improvement [1], it would be great to include it in Leap 15.5.
[1] https://docs.python.org/3.11/whatsnew/3.11.html
Python 3.11 is going to be delayed beyond the acceptance time-frame for Leap 15.5, and Python 3.11 will not make into Tumbleweed anytime soon for ALP, so I don't expect us to be able to fulfill this request in the near future.
Just to clarify we plan to offer this as a parallel offering not as a default interpret.
SLE team already has a tracker in JIRA for this.

Thanks for the quick response. I did not mean as default interpreter actually, a parallel offering in the repository for download would be fine. Sorry for any confusion in my issue description.
But 3.11 as parallel does not help us for packages that do not support 3.6 anymore, because $PACKAGE only builds against default. Or do we have a creative solution for this?
Hello Axel,
this particular request as we track it is to offer interpret. There was a plan in 15.4 to add 3.10 (done), we've already planned to do the same for SP5.
Co-incidentally we have the "update default python" which was transformed into provide python 3.10+ fulltack (that will be either 3.10 or 3.11). As default will not change. https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issue/17
Please do not mix this request with #17.
So closure on this one.
15.5 will have 3.11. We just don't know if 3.10 will be the "full stack" version or 3.11 will be the full stack one. This is to be decided. But interpret + basic modules (similar to 3.10 in 15.4) will be present no matter what.
