Create a private room on the matrix.o.o server to discuss board related items outside of the bi-weekly board meetings

I've created the room. I need your MXIDs (Matrix IDs) to invite you into it.
mine is sydsb:opensuse.org
Also everyone can get a matrix account on the opensuse server.
Go to chat.opensuse.org and login with SSO.

To be frank, I am not looking forward to yet another (social media) tool, login,...
At this point I am not planning to get on Matrix (all the more given how embarrassingly bad my previous user experience was).
Isn't it better though to be using openSUSE infra where we control access, privacy and security over some social media application where we do not have that control?
only reasons I used telegram was: 1) several instances possible to login (matrix has this too) 2) openSUSE channels are all bridged (matrix is the reason for this) 3) the place i rent a desk uses it (no solution yet)
The fact I prefer moving away is that by default all chats are NOT end-to-end encrypted

We chose to use telegram more rather then whatsapp which we were using before because its open. Originally this was created because the board was all in the same physical location and trying to coordinate meeting up for dinner etc. It then turned out to be occasionally useful for discussing urgent matters.
As I said in chat for everything else I'd still strongly prefer to use email for our between meeting discussions it generally works much better for what we need to do. I'm very much unlikely to setup matrix on my phone which would really loose the current advantages that we have with Telegram (the board is the only telegram group i'm in).
Moving this to the "Meeting" tag because its clear we don't have a consensus here at the moment.
My previous matrix experience was also really poor although I never spent huge amounts of time with it because of its inability to reset my password but this isn't the main reason i'm against this proposal, that reason is chat is the wrong medium for such discussions either use the issue tracker or email.

(Sorry a slightly more thinking me is going to reply again)
Yes, that makes code.opensuse.org / email the ideal place to have our discussions or via email, it makes the discussions much easier to track and refer to in the future. In my mind whatever chat we use is more for "Sorry I can't make the meeting" at the last minute or I need an urgent opinion on this ticket or email.

As I said the board and conferences are the only reason I use telegram but if end to end encryption is the most important thing then id rather just go back to whatsapp seen as all my family use it.

We discussed (again) in the 2021-06-21 meeting and agreed not to pursue for the time being.
