#57 CoC violation while trying to defend the CoC
Closed: Resolved 10 months ago by GeraldPfeifer. Opened 10 months ago by cboltz.

I have to report a terribly failed attempt to defend the CoC that broke the CoC itsself.

I fully agree that the openSUSE community should be inclusive and tolerant, and that we are not a place for people that hate-speak against others because they are members of the LGBT community or $other_reason.
It's also more than fine if someone tells intolerant people about that, and that intolerant people are not welcome. Luckily we've had several of these mails.

However, I absolutely can't agree if such a mail violates the CoC itsself, for example by calling those people "rotten flesh" and telling them to "fuck off".

These words clearly violate our CoC.
Even if they are pointed at "the bad guys"[tm] (actually this detail shouldn't even matter).

I'm even more disappointed that the mail in question was written by a board member, who clearly should know better how to behave. He even wrote "Don't refer to me as a Board Member" - but that makes this worse, not better because it shows that he clearly knew what he was doing.

Sorry to say that, but this behaviour does not suit a board member.

In case you still don't know which mail I'm talking about, see
https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.opensuse.org/message/RZGX4UPON3CJAOUUUWJDORNH4OOCSY2D/

(Please read the whole mail - I only quoted the worst parts, but there's more :-( )

Please take the appropriate actions to sanction this CoC violation.

Regards,

Christian Boltz
