Having a common place where we could fetch information about OpenSUSE releases would be great. Some single point file (maybe a JSON file?) with information (described below) that could be consumed by projects as osinfo-db* (which I maintain) in order to populated its entries in an automated way would be super helpful.

The information that would be relevant for osinfo-db would be:
1 The system version (OpenSUSE Leap 15.1, for instance)
1.1 Its variants
1.1.1 For each variant:
1.1.1.1 The URL for its:
1.1.1.2 ISOs;
1.1.1.3 Trees;
1.1.2 The minimum / recommended resources for running the system

Currently all this information is available somewhere, in the OpenSUSE webpage. Concentrating those together would help us to automated our processes.

*osinfo-db: is a database of OSes, consumed by GNOME Boxes, virt-manager / virt-install, Cockpit, OpenStack, etc ...

If this is not the right place for the RFC, please, just let me know and, if possible, redirect me to the right place.

Fabiano could you please elaborate a bit on "Concentrating those together would help us to automated our processes."? IMHO This is the main part of the request.

I'd say that this information (at least most of it) is available in https://github.com/openSUSE/get-o-o/tree/main/_data (aka get.opensuse.org)

Fabiano, does that include everything you need?

I recall that the product api was one of the reasons why we separated the get-o-o from software-o-o. Since software-o-o was very overloaded with features.

Fabiano mentioned that he has not been working on this topic for quite a while. So we can close this.
