openSUSE Project Membership

This project is where membership requests (becoming a member, etc.) can be filed.

  • login :-)
  • Create a new issue, which is private by default, with your nick name (see below) at the beginning of the subject and mention your contributions. Attachments can be added to support your mentioned contributions. (Recommendation: list your contributions in your https://en.opensuse.org/User: profile on the openSUSE wiki. A section in the User: profile with endorsements is helpful for the process.)
  • For the @opensuse.org mail setup please provide your target email address. If you are concerned having it in public you can inform the membership-officials@ using the private mailing list after your application has been approved.
  • The request to join the openSUSE members group by submitting "Create Issue" button)

The process will go forward with membership officials reviewing your contributions on your https://en.opensuse.org/User:X account.

Examples of contributions you can include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Code and packaging
  • Wiki editing
  • Bug reporting, triaging, and bug fixing
  • Translation
  • Continued user support on any communication medium
  • Giving openSUSE Talks/Presentation and/or promoting openSUSE
  • Organizing an openSUSE Booth at FOSS events

After review and comments, your application may either be approved or you will recieve feedback for why it isn't approved and what can be done to improve the circumstances for either a denial or comment for more information needed.
